Meister Eckhart A Dominican Monk was a brilliant scholar but, was cited before the tribunal of the Inquisition at Cologne where he professed himself willing to withdraw anything that his writings might contain contrary to the teachings of the Church. The matter was referred to the Pope, who, in 1329 condemned certain propositions extracted from the his writings two years after Eckharts death.These writings are presented with the above in view.
